Content and Styling

Can I change the styling of the directory?

Yes. You will have access to the CSS file that dictates the look and feel of your directory and surrounding site. You can even edit the HTML file that defines the structure and layout of the joomla pages.

Can I import my current dataset into the directory?

We can bulk upload your existing data saving you the trouble of adding the entries individually. Contact us for info on how to do this...

Can I restrict public access to some of the information in my directory?

Of course. For each entry in the directory, you can define how much and what info is to be presented to the public

An Existing Web Site

Do I need to get a website before I can purchase Tribalogic Business Directory?

Nope. Along with the directory, we provide an integrate CMS. In other words, we give you a whole website, in which the directory is embedded.

Will I lose search engine rankings from an existing site?

No, you don't have to.

If you have an existing directory and do not want to lose the search enginge ranking, you can set up redirects within Joomla that will point search engines to the new location of your directory.

Do I own the data in my Directory?

Yes

Is there a limit to the number of listings that the The Tribalogic Business Directory can handle?

We list prices for monthly hosting of up to 5000 entries - but our software can cope with much more than that. If you have more entries than that please contact us and we will discuss pricing, and if your data set is really, really big - plausablity.

Getting Technical

What happens when there are updates to the software / new versions? Do I have to pay extra?

No. We are constantly developing, improving and optimising our software, as well as regularly adding new features. As long as you use our software you will receive these updates for free and you won't have to lift a finger. (As your directory is a hosted solution, the concept of "versions" is not applicable - the software is continually being updated)

My data is held on your servers - is it secure?

We take the security of your data seriously. We use a world-class data center, take daily backups and keep our server software up to date with the latest security patches.

What are the underlying technologies that The Business Directory are built on?

Some Definitions

What is this "CMS?"

CMS - Contact Management System.

Essentially it allows you to do things with your website that would usually only be done by your web master like editing existing pages, creating new pages and new menu items.

The interface is simple to use and when you are editing pages you can use something called the WYSIWYG editor (What You See Is What You Get) - This works similarly to the functions in 'Word' or other office programs. So its easy to write and edit your own pages and you don't have to pay someone to change the HTML.

What does "hosted solution" mean?

As opposed to selling you a piece of software that you must then download, install yourself and update when there are new versions, our product will be running on our servers. This means that we will do all the set-up - all the updates that we make to our software will automatically implement themselves on your site - (meaning you don't have to download new versions), and we will also deal with the routine maintenance that the site will require. This leaves you to concentrate on your business plan.

Will you support me in using the software?

Yes. Before we complete the setup of the directory, we will phone you to ensure that the core setup of the directory is to your liking. Once this has been completed we will give you a phone training session on how to use the software. Check out our support for more information.
